One can find spectacular accommodation in the forest, on a peak in Iveland - Norway. Iveland Tree Top Panorama is owned and operated by the Andersen and Finsland families. With great assistance from light designers in our project department, they realized the vision of creating a magical ambience with light.
Magical lighting in a Treetop cabin

- The Goal was to Attract Guests from All Over the World
This tree-top cabin is named Ørneredet (Eagle's Nest) and is the second tree-top hut they have built in Iveland. When starting with Ørneredet, they had already decided this cabin would be even more spectacular than the first. The goal was to offer something unique that would attract guests from all over the world.

Quiet, Magical and Luxurious
Built at the top of a tree on the edge of a cliff, Ørneredet offers a 360-degree panoramic view of the surrounding wilderness. The cabin accommodates up to 8 guests and has a kitchen, bathroom, and modern conveniences like water and electricity – a rare luxury in the tree tops. Guests can also enjoy a premium jacuzzi on the terrace all year round.

All lighting at Ørneredet, outdoor, indoor, and effect lighting, is supplied by The Light Group. We greatly emphasise quality, so we have chosen these premium products for one of Norway's most incredible tree-top cabins! The Light Group has many skilled employees and designers who have worked hard to create the perfect lighting and atmosphere for all our guests. The lights are programmed to display different colours and scenes every evening. We are happy with the result!
Lighting as a Tool
What sets Ørneredet apart from the ordinary is the use of lighting. With over 65 meters of digital LED strips controlled by DMX and activated by sensors, the hut transforms into a living work of art. These lights are programmed with scenarios and short shows triggered by sensors and time intervals. This has already ensured that guests share their experiences on social media.
A sensor in the stairs triggers a "welcome show" that lights up the stairs and shows the way into the cabin.
Digital LED strips were a deliberate choice, not only for their ability to create a unique visual effect that captivates the guests' interest but also because they can offer subdued lighting that brings peace and harmony to the natural surroundings.

How to Recreate This Effect?

Digital SPI LED Strip
A programmable digital LED strip is controlled using an SPI signal and features the smart IC UCS2904BL chip. Each LED segment (10 cm) can be individually programmed,
allowing for precise customization. Installation must follow the directional flow from Di (Data In) to Do (Data Out).
We offer assistance with programming and customization to suit your specific needs.

DMX Control
Stand-Alone Control Unit for RGB and RGBW
A stand-alone control unit for RGB and RGBW lighting capable of managing up to 1,024 channels and up to 2,000 scenes. It can be programmed using a PC, Mac, or an app on a tablet.
