We have delivered new lighting for Øvernløypa for Nes Sportsklubb using our SLC product. The new lighting provides a better experience for users, while also delivering cost savings related to the operation of the facility.

Øvernløypa – Upgraded Facility
The facility has been upgraded with Alux 200W in 3000K.
Users have given very positive feedback following the upgrade.
The choice of 3000K has been successful, and the light is perceived as more even, clearer, and more pleasant than before
Clear difference between the old and new lighting
The before-and-after images show the difference very clearly. The old installation produced a more yellowish and uneven light, while the new installation provides a clearer lighting pattern, better distribution, and significantly improved uniformity along the trail.
The lighting measurements confirm the improvement:
• Old installation: 48 lux on average
• New installation: 93 lux on average
• Uniformity improved from 0.46 to 0.62
This means that the installation not only uses less electricity, but also provides a significantly better lighting experience for users.
Lower power consumption – better lighting
The old installation consisted of 55 luminaires rated at 400W each.
The actual power consumption, including operating losses, was close to 500W per luminaire.
• Old installation: 27.5 kW
• New installation: 11 kW
• Savings: 16.5 kW per operating hour
At the same time, the lighting level has increased from 48 lux to 93 lux.
With an operating time of 70 hours per month and an electricity price of NOK 2.00 per kWh, this results in savings of NOK 2,310 per month.
In short:
Øvernløypa has received:
- lower energy consumption
- significantly improved lighting levels
- better uniformity throughout the facility
- approx. 60% lower energy consumption
- more functional and safer lighting throughout the facility
Good visibility on the trail increases safety for users.
SLC Alux
In this ski resort, we have used ALUX as a floodlight for area lighting. With its asymmetric optics, it provides good and uniform light distribution over larger surfaces, which is crucial for both safety and visibility on the slope.
Its slim design combined with high efficiency makes it well suited for installations at height, while C5-M corrosion protection ensures a long service life in an environment characterized by cold, moisture, and harsh weather conditions.
